Contemporary light in art

You see something shining, something shining. Do you see light? One thing is certain, without light there is nothing to see. Is light itself visible? Actually, no. Light is elusive. For centuries, artists have been fascinated by light. Efforts have been made to match it in paint, to capture it with sculptures.

We also see this fascination with light every year when the transmitter mast in IJsselstein is decorated with lights in December. The MIJ is paying attention to this special light event from 2016.

I am honored that an installation of 11 of my light objects will illuminate the beautiful setting of the 16th century Castle Tower.
