Climb Up
The atrium of Faculty Theatre HKU was once a courtyard which was outdoor space. The installation of a glass roof turned this into an indoor space. Where, after a remodel, an acoustical problem arose.
For this space, I designed acoustic panels with a link to the outdoor space that was once there. There is an ivy motif on the 9 panels.
Also included in the design is a fence topped with “real” ivy.

With Biophilic Design, I want to strengthen the relationship between nature, human biology and design in the built environment. Biophilia Design appeals to all our senses and I apply it to create environments that feel good and are good for us!
Biophilia elements:
Add living greenery,
Use natural materials
Use natural color tones
Visual link established with nature.
